A bathroom can often feel like a purely practical space offering little comfort or personality. That can be easily changed with a selection of accessories.
There tend to be two approaches when thinking about bathroom accessories: tonal to blend in with the existing bathroom suite and decor, or something to bring statement and a pop of colour.
You may want to buy all items from one range to keep the look streamlined and uniform, or maybe you want to mix it up a little.
There are two types of bathroom accessories - wall mounted such as towel rails and toilet roll holders and free standing such as soap dispensers, toilet brushes, bathroom bins, soap dishes, beakers and small bathroom storage. Some items may fall into both categories, but there is a lot of choice out there to suit your needs.
Another thing to consider is the material the accessories are made of. There is an almost endless choice such as plastic, wood and different metals.
Metal accessories tend to be either a steel product that is then finished, typically in chrome, or brass, again finished in chrome, although other finishes such as nickel, brushed brass or matt black are available for both. The disadvantage of steel is that if the finish is damaged, there is a chance that the accessory could rust, reducing the life of the product. Accessories in plated brass though do not suffer with this as brass is less likely to oxidise. Brass is however, more expensive.

A bathroom or shower room can be stylish whilst also being very practical to allow all ages and abilities to independently use each zone in the room. You must consider the location of these before the bathroom is installed as some items such as folding shower seats might need reinforcement in the wall especially if it is a stud wall. Occupational therapists can give very useful guidelines on what and where to fit items for the best ergonomics for each person.
Available products include a wide range of grab bars, folding grab bars for the toilet (and even removable versions), folding shower seats, bathroom stools and grab bar slider rails for the shower.
