Main Bathroom, Sydney Road
Bright and airy even in a compact space, this bathroom has everything you need and more packed into a very tidy package.
Lighting and pale tones have been used throughout, from the furniture units to the tiles. The tiling has been broken up by a strip of split face effect tiles on one wall and inside the recessed storage cubbies to stop it from being monotonous. The black worktops on top of the units finish off the look and provide contrast.
As well as the recessed lighting in the ceiling, the mirror is also lit by powerful LEDs. This mirror also features an integrated demister pad which is essential in this smaller space with the shower present, as well as a charging port for shavers or toothbrushes. The functions are controlled by an intuitive motion sensor which helps prevent the surface from being smeared by removing the need to touch it at all.
The shower enclosure is quite large for the space but has been cleverly designed to make best use of what is available. A slim stud wall has been built to conceal all of the plumbing for the chrome shower system which features both an overhead shower head and a handset on the slider rail. It also has a folding seat mounted beneath the shower so that you can sit if required and is accompanied by the adjacent grab rail. The radiator towel rail has been cleverly positioned within the end of the shower enclosure, this ensures that it isn’t taking up even more space in the room and also provides towel storage within easy reach.
One last feature of this bathroom is that the units are all actually factory 2nds products, as is the basin! Many 2nds items are like new with few or no defects and this build shows that they can be used to bring the cost down and still provide a stunning result.
