Projects Featuring Matki
Warminster Road, Bath
This pentangle shower fits the space perfectly with the corner access leaving room for a tall thin radiator that has a large heat output. The feature patterned floor tile oozes style and brings the whole design together. The wall mounted vanity unit gives the illusion of more space as more of the stylish floor tiles can be seen underneath. The round mirror adds a softer shape in to the equation and stops the whole layout from being too angular.
This project was for a stunning villa near Wadebridge, Cornwall with 3 bathrooms.
There has been some boxing created behind the toilet to house the toilet frame/cistern and to conceal the pipework. An useful access hatch has been created in this boxing for maintenance which is open in the main photo.
The large slim white shower tray blends well with the white carrara effect tiles which also make the room feel bright and airy.
In the other shower room the pentagonal shower enclosure gives good access to the toilet and basin area with the angled off corner reducing the chance of kicking the corner of the tray or colliding with the glass.
The sloping ceiling caused a few complications with this shower room design which meant that a bespoke shower enclosure was needed. A digital shower was also used which took advantage of the roof space above. The coloured and textured shower tray blended well into the floor tiles and has anti-slip properties. Being a tray with no tiles or grout lines means it is far easier to keep clean compared to wetroom trays.
The gorgeous wall hung basin has a very handy slab to the side of it for resting toiletries and the vanity unit below has an aluminium, handle-less drawer front which is very water resistant. The illuminated mirror with demister pad and bluetooth connection with speakers also has task lighting and for mood lighting there is a wall light above. For even more storage there is a wall mounted tall boy to the side.
Wellington Buildings, Bath
These traditional styled rooms were installed by the team at Aquabathrooms. In the cloakroom they have made a feature of the wall mounted basin pipework by using a matching chrome finish. The striking red painted tongue and groove wall panelling adds to the look and nicely ties the theme together with the matching red high level toilet cistern. As well as the red accent colour they have nicely matched the oak floor with the solid oak throne toilet seat.
The other larger shower room has a one piece under mounted basin and worktop which means it is far more easy to clean and hygienic. There is also a floorstanding vanity unit below for storing away those unsightly spare toilet rolls and bleach. The painted tongue and groove wall panelling looks splendid with the matching low level toilet cistern and toilet seat.
Luckington Rd, Badminton
This L-shaped room was awkward and needed a bit of thought to select the appropriate products. The sophisticated fitted furniture combined both a standard depth vanity unit to provide large basin and storage with a slim depth toilet unit to make sure the it didn’t take up too much floor space. The waterproof solid resin worktop has been cut back to follow the shape of the furniture below and was finished on site. The fitted furniture also helps to hide any ghastly pipework and the matt shaker style furniture doors add a classy vibe to the room.
The minimalist pentagonal shaped shower enclosure was perfect for this set up as the diagonal corner allows easy access through to the toilet/basin and the heated towel rail opposite. This shape is also practical as there is no sharp corner to walk into or stub your toe on when you are half asleep.
